Fiber Arts: ReadCross Stuffed Animal Surgical Team In-Person
The Storrs Library Fiber Arts Group is a generous and talented group who meet every first and third Tuesday of the month. On first Tuesdays, we work with recycled textiles to make beautiful and artistic products. Items are donated to the Friends of Storrs Library for fundraising.
On second Tuesdays, the Fiber Arts Stuffed Animal Surgical Team repairs beloved plush friends at the Storrs ReadCross Stuffed Animal Hospital.
If your child's stuffed animal is hurt, if your family heirloom needs some reinforcement, or even if your plush friend is perfectly fine but could use a little TLC, the Fiber Arts Group Surgical Team is here to help! Here's How: first make an intake appointment with Dr. Ruby Reads in the Discovery Room. Bring the patient in on the appointed day. Surgeons and specialists from the Fiber Arts Stuffed Animal Surgical Team will go to work making expert stitches and repairs to get your loved one back on its feet in no time. The patient can be picked up in the Discovery Room the following morning after a good night's rest at our ReadCross Hospital. Stuffed animal patients will come home with care notes from the providers and Librarians and a homemade picturebook written by Storrs Library staff.
