Great Decisions 2025 with Vincent Ferraro: International Cooperation on Climate Change In-Person

Join us for Great Decisions 2025!
Great Decisions is America's largest discussion program on world affairs. Every year, eight topics are chosen by a panel of experts. Before each of the eight programs, participants are asked to read the corresponding section in the Briefing Book. We will meet to watch a video then discuss the week's topic.

This year, we are excited to welcome Vinnie Ferraro as our Facilitator. Mr. Ferraro holds MIA in International Relations from Columbia University and a PhD in PolySci from MIT. He was on the Editorial Board at the New England Journal of Political Science, and has a long list of publications on topics related to Alternative Energy, International Relations, and Global Poverty, among others. For more information on Mr. Ferraro, please visit: Vincent A. Ferraro | Mount Holyoke College

Meetings will be held every other Tuesday, 4:30-6, beginning Feb. 11.
Please register and purchase your Briefing Book ahead of time. Briefing Books are $35. We accept cash or check (made out to the Richard Salter Storrs Library). You will be notified by email when the Briefing Books are available which is usually toward the end of January.

This Week's Topic:Apr. 8: International Cooperation on Climate Change - The 2015 Paris Agreement established a UN-sponsored framework for negotiations on climate change and global warming. In subsequent COP meetings, experts and political leaders have come together seeking common cause for this growing global crisis. What is the future of these efforts, and what have they yielded? What is the U.S. role in fostering cooperation on climate change? In a divided country, what are the possible futures for American policy leadership?
