Re-Engraving Paul Revere: The Boston Massacre with Andrew VOLPE In-Person
While Paul Revere is best known for his "Midnight Ride" and as a trained Silversmith, he also became a prolific copperplate engraver, providing several political images that helped fuel the Revolution. In 2020, Andy Volpe engraved an exact replica of Revere's most infamous print, the "Boston Massacre" for the event's 250th commemoration. Learn the often-forgotten backstory of the print and how Volpe went about replicating it. Volpe will also briefly discuss the impact the Printing Press had on the Revolution, through Newspapers and Illustrations. Printing plates, tools, and prints will be on display.
